Word for Today: He Hath Given Us All Things......

Scripture: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to F2 glory and virtue.  2 Peter 1:3

All things that pertain unto life and godliness.....

How many times have we gotten down to pray and found ourselves giving God our list of wants or needs like children sitting on Santa Claus' knee?  Because we are people housed in flesh we have physical or natural needs and wants, we need food, clothes, a car, shelter and as high as gas prices are nowadays....GAS!!! But that is not why we should pray or be the basis for us praying.  God will supply our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus, but when was the last time you took your prayer time to just tell God how much you love him or thank Him for what He has already done.  God doesn't look at our wants and needs like we do.  In fact He places all our earthly needs and wants into one category...THINGS!  The bible says to seek FIRST the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness and all the other THINGS will be added.  God's divine power already knows what we have need of even before we pray.  And with that power He gives us the earthly THINGS and the godly THINGS.  So concentrate on the Godly things and God will take care of the rest.  Take time to just love God for being God and for once don't ASK for any-THING!

Have a blessed day!

Word for Today: Pouring Out Your Soul

Scripture: And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful F7 spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. 1 Sam 1:15

...I have poured out my soul before the Lord.

Hannah had some issues to deal with didn't she?  First she was without a child, which was considered a curse during the Old Testament time.  Secondly, her husband's other wife, who was also her rival, had children and "threw" it up in her face every chance she got.  Hannah had a good husband, although he didn't understand her.  He told her, "Why are you weeping about a child, when I am better to you than 10 sons."  Nonetheless, her outpour to God was because she felt that God had abandoned her.  The bible says that God closed her womb so that she could not bare children.  How many times have we felt that God has left us to deal with our issue alone.  But God has a greater plan for our lives, just as he had for Hannah.  Yes, it was painful for her to be ridiculed and talked about not only from her enemies and friends.  But even the priest thought that she was out of her mind and going insane.  She stood in the temple praying and crying out to God and Eli, the priest, thought she was drunk.  Hannah had great sorrow and anytime you have great sorrow it requires great worship and prayer.  As we all know, Hannah gave birth to one of the greatest prophets of all time, Samuel.  But not only did God reward her with a son, whom she gave to God for His service, but he gave her more children.

Prayer and worship will move the heavens.  What is it that you are facing in your life and you seem to be at a stand still.  God has not forgotten you and in fact He has a greater plan for your pain.

I dare you to began to pray and to worship God.  God will give you more glory for your pain, for the bible says that the suffering of this present time can not be compared to the GLORY that is to be revealed in us.

Have A Blessed Day!

Word for Today: Doing things God's Way

Scripture:    And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?  So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of O'bed–e'dom the Gittite.  2 Samuel 6:9,10

How do we get the Lord in our camp?  Do it God's way......

Most of us want to feel the presence of the Lord, more than during Praise & Worship.   But how do we capture and retain that feeling?  We have to understand that God's design for man was for him to dwell in God's presence at all times.  After Adam's sin and before Jesus' resurrection the presence of God was housed in a golden box called the ark of the covenant or the ark of the Lord.  During King Saul's reign as king the ark of the covenant  had been captured and David wasn't happy that it had been over 40 years and no one "missed" the presence of God.  He decided to bring the ark to the city of David on a new cart and he would have singers and "praisers" following the ark.  He enlisted some strong warriors to watch over the ark, just in case someone else wanted to capture the ark.  Sounded like a good idea, huh?  But the problem was that when the ark of the covenant was created and established under Moses there were exact instructions on who could touch or come near the ark....ONLY the priest which were concencrated for the Lord's service were allowed to touch or carry the ark of the covenant.  Now back to David.....when the ark began to shake due to the oxen pulling it, Uzzah, the warrior, tried to catch the ark and as soon as he touched it he died.  The problem was not that David didn't care about the ark of God, but that he didn't do it GOD'S way.  Whenever we want the presence of God in our lives, there is something that we have to do.  We have to concencrate and purify ourselves.  We won't ever truly have his presence or His anointing without first being purified and then concencrated.  Many people would rather pretend to have God's anointing than do what is necessary to obtain it.  David's story didn't end in complete disaster, just as our stories don't have to end in disaster.  David went back to the Book of the Law and discovered what he had done wrong and corrected his mistakes.  He brought the ark of the covenant home to Jerusalem and then he had a real crazy praise. (that is when he danced out of his clothes)

When we do things God's way, we will always get the God kind of results we desire.

Be Blessed!

Word for Today.........You've Got The Look

Scripture: Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Outward appearance......

Many times as I was growing up, being raised in a strict Christian home, I was told that I had to "look" holy even if I wasn't holy.  The thought was "act it until you become it."  Now that I have come to have a REAL relationship with God, that teaching doesn't apply.  When we have the appearance of being holy and yet not have the holiness within, it causes us to be as the Pharisees of Jesus' day......HYPOCRITES!!!  The scribes and the Pharisees were so busy focusing on the outward appearance of holiness, that they neglected their practice of holiness. When Jesus' truth came to them and showed the light of truth upon them, their religious outward lifestyle was lacking a great deal.  Jesus didn't say that all of their religious practices were unnecessary, but religious practices should not replace true relationship.  Many times we get caught up in service FOR God and leave out being servant TO God.   God told Samuel concerning David when he was looking for the next king to anoint...."for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

Take a moment to search your own heart.  What does your heart look like?

Take unto you the WHOLE armor of God…..

Scripture for Today:                 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Ephesians 6:13

Christians are engaged in spiritual warfare against a powerful enemy. "You're going to face a powerful, invisible enemy every day-the Devil. Put on your body armor and be prepared to fight him and his demonic hosts. Put on every piece of your battle dress" (Ephesians 6:10-20).  Paul lists seven pieces of equipment every Christian should wear to win this spiritual battle:

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer…(verses 14-18a)

We have to understand that we are in a war.  This battle is for real!!!  The devil is out to destroy us and to cause us to retreat. The bibles says that he (Satan) comes to steal, kill and to destroy, but I (Christ) come that you may have life and that more abundantly.  God has provided everything that we need to win the battle.  But are we willing to dress appropriately to win.  Not a single military soldier that is engaged in battle will dress as he would if he were a civilian.  There are certain articles of clothing that we have to have in order to properly engage in battle.  We must be well armed making use of all the proper defenses and weapons for repelling the temptations and strategies of Satan—get and exercise all the Christian graces, the whole amour, that no part be naked and exposed to the enemy.  We read in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5: "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."(taken from the amplified bible)

We must realize that our battle is with the enemy (Satan) not our sisters and brothers.  And to be honest, not with the world.  We should be fighting our true enemy and only our true enemy; SATAN.   For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Every piece we need to win the battle has been provided and is stocked in the heavenlies.  Take what you need and fight to win!  God intends us to be "more than conquerors," but we have to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Be dressed for battle, keep your armor on, and when it's all over you'll still be on your feet and victorious.  For God has given us every piece of armor we need, except for our backs.  But like He did for the Children of Israel when they were at the Red Sea, the mountains on each side of them and Pharaoh at their backs.  He causes the flame of fire to go behind us and is a protector for our back. God’s got your back!

Have a Blessed Day!

We never need to be without hope, while looking with the eyes of faith.
