Word for Today..........You Can Too!

Scripture:   For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.  Hebrews 4:15

YET WITHOUT SIN!!!!

The last part of this scripture is what jumped out at me.  It was not the fact that Jesus is our high priest, or that He feels our infirmities or our grief, neither was it the fact that He was tempted.  What jumped out to me was WITHOUT sin.  Jesus came to the earth to redeems us back God and He had to go through everything He went through for us.  But the key to this verse of scripture is that every area that we are tempted, Christ was also tempted IN ALL POINTS, YET WITHOUT SIN.  Until we are born again, the only kind of temptations we understand is, that which is mentioned in James - "Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed."  But by regeneration, we are lifted into another realm where there are other temptations to face just as Christ faced.  Satan does not tempt you to do wrong or immoral things once you are really born again; he tempts us in order to make us lose what God has placed in us; OUR PROMISE.  After John the Baptist baptized Jesus, He was immediately taking into the wilderness to be TEMPTED of the devil.  He went through every temptation of the devil WITHOUT SIN and He retained His glory and power intact.

We must understand that the power that Jesus had while on the earth is the same power we possess now.  But it is up to us to exercise that power.  We are being tempted of the devil every day, because Satan wants us to lose our inheritance with God.  We don't have to let Satan win the war of temptations.  We have the power to overcome temptation, just as Jesus overcame him.  You can do it too!

Word for Today.........Bonus Check!!!!!

Scripture:  Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.  For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.  Hebrews 10:35-36

RECOMPENSE!!!!!

The word recompense means to give or pay something to by way of compensation (as for a service rendered or damage incurred)  Now, the spanish word for bonus is recompensa, which sounds a lot like recompense and is actually the same word.  So let's deal with this!  First, the day we live in is the "right now" generation.  We want everything, quick, fast and in a hurry.  However, the word of the Lord clearly tells us that we have to hold to our confidence or don't let go of your hope (paraphrased)  No one is exempt from this.  However, we have to know that if we hold on to the confidence in Christ that He will do whatever it is that He said He would do, we have a bonus check coming!!!!

How many of us receive bonuses on our jobs, or wish we received bonuses?  These bonuses are for going above and beyond or reaching a desired goal.  Most of the time the goal, when we start out seems to be unreachable.  But if we reach the goal or objectives laid before us, we can expect our bonus checks!!!  Well, God does us the same way.  No, you won't go to hell for not waiting on God to deliver you out of a situation and neither will you be condemn to hell for wanting God to get you out of the furnance before the time of development is complete.  But there is something that we miss when we refuse to wait or are impatient about God's delivering process.  It is the bonus!!!!  The bible says in Psalms 27:14 to wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He will strengthen our hearts.  If we are ever to receive the bonus of God's favor, the bonus of His anointing, the bonus of His power, we have to wait patiently on the Lord.  Don't give up in the middle of your battle, because we shall reap our harvest if we faint not.

Word for Today.... Glory in Tribulations?!?!?!?!?!

Scripture:  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulations worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:  Romans 5:3-4

GLORY IN TRIBULATIONS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

How is this possible?  That is the questions many of us have asked or yelled or wondering.  How can God know the state of our world and the hard trials we are facing.  How can God know that our loves ones are on drugs or out in the streets?  How can God know about our financial, emotional, family and job situation and still say we should GLORY in tribulations.  I don't know about you, but there have been many times when I thought that God was in heaven looking at me struggle and seemed to be laughing at me.  I know, I know!!!!  That wasn't very Christian like at all, but it felt like He was laughing at me struggle with my health and wealth and family.  And then He led me to this scripture.  The scripture is not intended to assume that you will laugh your way through every circumstance or trial, but that you should rejoice because we are experiencing God's glory even in our trials.  In order to have a true experience with God we MUST go through.  We will never fully understand and experience God's glory, until we glory/rejoice in our tribulations.  There is a process to getting to know and experience God and that is first we must glory in our tribulations and then those tribulations will work in us patience and that patience will produce an experience with Him and through our experience with have HOPE!!!!!!  This hope is of Christ, who already had provided us the secret to success, which is to believe on Him as the scriptures have said.  He said if we believed on Him, we would have flowing from our bellies or inner most being the rivers of living water.  These waters are what bring the refreshing joy and GLORY in Christ Jesus.  Think about it like this...if I were never sick, how could I KNOW & EXPERIENCE Him as my healer.  If I never went without, how could I KNOW & EXPERIENCE Him as my provider.  This is the HOPE that we have that He will deliver us out of every trial.

Be Blessed!

Word for Today..........Ye Have Continued

Scripture:  Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.  Luke 22:28

YE HAVE CONTINUED…

The disciples were arguing about who was the greatest.  But Jesus began to commend them for being faithful and that was the greatest honor.  It wasn’t who could pray and folks recover, or who could speak in tongues the most; but WHO WAS FAITHFUL.  Faithfulness is the greatest honor to Jesus.  It is true that Jesus Christ is with us in our temptations/trials, but are we continuing with Him in His temptations? His temptations are those situations that He ordains for us to endure.  Christ endured MANY temptations not for Himself, but for US.  However, many of us cease to go with Jesus from the moment we experience what His suffer is like. Watch when God shifts your circumstances, and see whether you are going with Jesus, or siding with the world, the flesh and the devil. We wear His badge, but are we going with Him? The bible says, “From that time many of His disciples went back and walked no more with Him.” Many left Him because the cost of faithfulness was too great.  Going with Jesus means that no matter the situation we stay focused on Him and what He has said in His word.

We have the idea that we ought to shield ourselves from some of the things God brings round us. NOT!  God engineers circumstances and what ever they may be like, we have to see that we face them while abiding continually with Him. We must never step outside of His will or walk away from Him because of circumstances.  The honor of Jesus Christ is at stake in your bodily life. Are you remaining loyal to the Son of God in the things that signify His life in you?  Do you continue to go with Jesus?

The way lies through Gethsemane, through the city gate, outside the camp; the way lies alone, and thru the suffering of our own cross.  There is a song that I used to hear that says, “Must Jesus bear his cross alone and all the world go free.  There IS a cross for everyone and there is a cross for you and me.”  Don’t walk away from the cross, because he will give us the strength to bear it.  Don't give up, but CONTINUE in Him.

Word for Today..........HIS!!!!

Scripture:  What? know ye not that your body is the temple fo the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God and ye are not your own?  1 Cor 6:19

Ye are not your own.

When I think about not being my own, I think about something that is the "property" of someone.  It shows ownership and authority over another.  I have a dog, whose name is Pepper.  Pepper is a bright, intelligent dog and sometimes surprises me with just how much he knows and understands.  However, Pepper still belongs to me.  If I tell Pepper that it is time for a bath and he just wants to play and frolic outside, there is no question about what will happen.  It is not a matter of whether he wants to be bathed or not; Pepper doesn't have an choice.  He simply HAS to obey, whether willingly or unwillingly.  When those unwilling occasions happen, I am forced to put him on a leash and "tie" him down so that I can do what I know is best for him and for us.

That is how we should be when it comes to walking in our relationship with God.  We HAVE to obey.  Just as Pepper, we may be brillant and intelligent, but we DON'T have ownership of ourselves because we have been PURCHASED and paid in full.  God didn't put us on layaway in hopes to someday own us.  He sent his son to pay the full price with his blood.  God makes us his own possession and takes FULL responsiblity for us.  No matter the task God will help and assist us.  We must be ready to obey.  The bible says that we are to present our bodies as living sacrafices, holy and acceptable.  When we offer our lives to be used by God we are letting God know that we surrender our ownership, so that He can have FULL ownership.  Let us willingly obey so that God can get glory from our lives.

Be Blessed!
