Word for Today....Mission Accomplished!!!

Scripture:   When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. St. John 19:30

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!

Christ’s last words were a testament to the reason and purpose for his living and as notated in this scripture; his dying.  His assignment was a voluntary act of obedience and redeemed man back to God.  It is finished” says the plan and commandment of his Father concerning his life, his ministry and his sufferings were now fulfilled.  It was a signal that his purpose was fulfilled.  That was his mission!  In the Garden of Gethsemane, when he was preparing for the cross he said, “Father, thy will be done” and now before given up the breathe that sustained him.  Christ confirmed with pleasure, that the will of God was complete and done.It is finished” that is, all the prophecies of the Old Testament: his being sold for thirty pieces of silver, his hands and feet being pierced, his garments divided, etc.; and now this final task was done.  It is finished”.  The Lamb of God was sacrificed to take away the sin of the world, and it was accomplished   The storm was over, the worst had past; all his pains and agonies were at an end, and he was now going to paradise to enter into the joy set before him.

We now have the comfort that because of those last 3 words of our savior, our lives were changed forever.  We never have to stagger at what Christ did for us or what he said about us.  We only embrace what he said, “It is finished”.  No wondering or doubting, because a fatal blow had been given to the power of Satan.  We stand assure in our faith because Christ has ALREADY completed the work for us.  The only thing we need to do is wait on the manifestation of what has already been accomplished.  When the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 was signed by President Abraham Lincoln it freed every slave around the United States.  However, the word of that freedom didn’t make it to all the states at once and many of those slaves didn’t receive the word until months and even years later.  But because it had been signed and sealed it still made the slaves free.  That is what Christ did for us.  He freed us from the bondage of Satan’s works.
We don’t have to wait on someone to tell us we are free, because Christ told us himself.  IT IS FINISHED!!!!  We are free to walk in authority, free to walk in healing, free to walk in power and free to walk in redemption.  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!

Be Blessed!

Word for Today.......Warfare Weaponry!

Scripture:   For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.  2 Cor 10:3, 4

WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE!

All of us fight battles – for some, it is the battle of the bulge; while for others, it is the battle of the wills in child rearing – and then, for some, the battle of the pocketbook. They seem to be with us always. But, did you know there is a battle much more deadly? The battle of good and evil, God and Satan.  What is most important in battle are the weapons used to fight.  Your enemy is not clothed in flesh, but is a spirit and has positioned himself in high places to war against you.  Indeed, we are at war, but not a carnal war.  It is a spiritual war with spiritual enemies and those enemies have a spiritual purpose.  Though our enemy be spiritual, he battles us in our flesh.

We all live in the flesh.  All of us have problems: sicknesses, perplexities, and we suffer through the mundane things of life. And though we live or walk in the flesh, our weapons CAN NOT be carnal or after the manner of the flesh because our enemies are not after the manner of the flesh.  We have to understand our enemy and fight accordingly.  Our battle is against the devil and HIS army, not our neighbor or our brothers and sisters or even our physical enemies.  And because Satan fights by using those listed in the previous sentence, we will many times attempt to fight back in our flesh.  But God gives us mighty weapons to fight our enemy and it is through God that we are victorious in battle.  When we attempt to fight our enemy in the flesh we are destined to loose.  It is the pulling down of Satan’s strongholds and vain thoughts that our battles are won.  The devil will fight your mind and tell you that your brother, sister, neighbor, friend or church or is your enemy.  When in fact he (Satan) is the enemy.

So I hear you saying, “How are we going to pull down strongholds, imaginations, and high things like arrogance, ignorance, despair, bitterness, pride, and anger?  Certainly not with carnal weapons!  We are already members of the winner's circle, but not the way most would look at the winner’s circle.  First of all, we win because of the sovereignty and power of our Commander. Christ is our Commander and Chief.  The devil has been trying for centuries to do all he can to win this war, but when Jesus Christ died at Calvary, he dropped a nuclear bomb on the devil; a weapon of mass destruction (WMD).  While on the cross Jesus stated before giving up the ghost or releasing his body from this natural world, that it was FINISHED.  Secondly, we win because we have been given the same authority over every work of the devil.  The bible tells us that the reason Christ, the son of God, was manifested was to destroy the works of the devil.  God has given us the same authority to destroy his works and foil his plans.  What is authority?  It is the legal right to act on behalf of another.  So in essence Jesus, who already won the war, has given us the power of attorney to use those weapons of mass destruction on the devil’s attempts at battling us.

Now, let me give you one final thought: Not only can you fight the battle and defeat the devil, but you MUST fill your mind with godly thoughts, so as to CAST DOWN every vain thought the devil brings to our minds to persuade us to accept defeat instead of walking in victory.  Philippians 4:8-9 says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Be Blessed!
