Word for Today....Proclaim His Name and Receive His Glory

Scripture:      And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.  Ex 34:6

God proclaimed HIS name…
WOW!! How many times have we read the story about Moses wanting to see the glory of God?  I began to look at the story in a different perspective other than Moses actually wanting to see God’s face as many of us have been told or believe ourselves.  Because if we look in Chapter 33 verse 11 it states, “And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend…”  So we have to look deeper into the scriptures.  What was Moses’ really wanting to see of God?  I believe he asked to see His glory or the essences of who God was.  God told him that he couldn’t see His face for no one has seen His face and lived.  I believe Moses didn’t want to see the physical structure of God’s face but he wanted to KNOW the spiritual make up of God’s character.  What made God smile, what made God laugh, what made God sad or angry?  He wanted to see and know God as HIS God not just his Deliverer, not just his Provider and not just the God that worked miracles.  He had seen all of that from God already but he still NEEDED to have and see more.  Are you there?  Have you seen miracles, experienced ways being made for you, doors being opened but you say to yourself, “Something is STILL missing in my life and I still want more of God.”  It always amazes me that many people of God don’t really know God as anything other than a giver of stuff and they seem to be satisfied with that aspect of God.  But if you are like me - I want to KNOW more and see more of God other than His hand that gives to me, feeds me or protects me.  I believe there is the hunger that a select group of people have for God.  A small group of people who have CHOSEN and desires to get into God’s “face”.

The bible says, God told Moses that there was a place BY HIM and if he would stand ON the rock, he could have an experience of God that would change him forever!!! If we could ever stand by God on the Rock, that is Jesus, we will have an occurrence that will change US.  I am a believer that you can’t be in the presence of God; standing on the Rock, that is Jesus, and not be changed. For in His presence is FULLNESS of joy.  How many of us would like to experience what Moses experienced and have God himself pass by us and proclaim His name which IS his glory.  I KNOW I WOULD AND AM SEEKING FOR THAT RIGHT NOW!!!!  I believe that in His name is His glory! The word glory means exaltation, high honor, that which is praise worthy.  This is why David said, “Give thanks to the name of the Lord.”  It is because His glory it is enclosed and enveloped in his name.  God proclaimed to Moses his glorified name, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, long suffering and abundant in goodness and truth.”  If we understand the name of the Lord, not just recite Jehovah Jireh, or Jehovah Shalom, but really understand that when we make known God’s name we are purposed to receive and experience the glory of that name. When we proclaim God as Elohim (God as creator) we make known to our situations and problems that God knows all and He knows all about us.  When we proclaim God as El Roi (God who sees) we declare that He is omnipresent, His eyes never slumber and He never sleeps and is aware at all times of what is going on in our lives.  I am realizing that when we call God by His proclaimed name he becomes that for us.  He is already the “I AM” which is inclusive of everything that we need, but we need to have an understanding of, appreciation for and get to know Him by His name.  We do this by getting to know Him, not just seeking HIS things.  Start proclaiming His name and watch His glory be revealed in your own life.

Be Blessed!!!
