Scripture: Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations. Deut 7:9

HE is God, the FAITHFUL God…

Background....The Israelites had already left Egypt. They have been traveling in the wilderness for 40 years. They are now getting ready to enter Canaan, the land God promised to them. After they enter Canaan, each family will receive land as an inheritance as promised before they left Egypt. The book of Deuteronomy contains the last speeches to the Israelites given by Moses. It is a review of the past 40 years. He wanted to remind the Israelites that they should always trust and obey God. The word "Deuteronomy" means the 2nd law. This is the second time that Moses gives the regulations of God, which is important to us because this shows that God is willing to repeat himself. He is willing to reiterate what He has already told us, promised us and declared to us.

But it is important for us to know that unlike our money, our government and even our jobs, God is faithful and keeps his covenant (or promise). He won’t go back on his promise or forget what he promised. He told them He is faithful. God is trustworthy. When He promises something, He does it. He doesn’t change his mind, He doesn’t mess with us, pretending to be one thing and then change on us when we aren’t looking. He is faithful to what he said and to His promises.

The word faithful simply means consistently loyal, accurate and true. In a time when so many things around us are uncertain, unsure and unstable I am glad God is the constant. Yeah, the devil will tell you that things have changed and God doesn’t work like this or like that. However, the Word says God is not a man that He should lie. Things in our world ARE changing but God NEVER changes. If He said something concerning your life; you can rest assured that He will do it. Even if he has to perform your last miracle like he did with Elisha AFTER he had given up the body. He will bring ALL things concerning your life, family, money, body and soul to pass. Elisha had been promised a double portion of Elijah’s anointing and he did perform almost double the miracles that Elijah had performed but even past his death there was ONE more miracle to complete so that God’s promise to him would be true. A dead soldier’s body was thrown into the right grave (Elisha’s) so that God’s word would be true and accurate. If God has to rearrange and reconstruct something around you to do it; HE WILL!

I recently HAD to depend on God and to trust Him to be faithful. I was facing a time, as many have over the last year, when everything around me seemed to be falling apart and nothing was going right. Just as it seemed that I would go under God reminded me of WHO he was ‘I AM THAT I AM’ (that means ALL inclusive – everything I needed IS in Him). As I began to thank Him for what He had already done, He began to move and performed for me. So even when the devil blows smoke in our eyes to cloud and try to distract us from focusing on God and His promises, we have to know that those things that we have asked and prayed for will come to pass. If God said it He will SURELY bring it to pass.
Don’t be weary in well doing for in due season WE shall reap if we faint not. Keep moving and don’t give up! Psalms 24:15 says, “Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart; wait I say on the Lord.” No matter what the promises are, God can and will do it. He is faithful, who hath promised!

Be Blessed

© 2011 (L.O.W) Lifestyle of Worship Ministries. All right reserved

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Ex 12:1-2

I’m going to TRY to calmly get this out. But yesterday during our service at my church, Temple of God Deliverance, we were having a high time in the Lord and the Lord spoke to me to tell the people of God that the next two months of this year would be filled with miracles; financial, physical and spiritual. God said that though the last 10 months had been hard, we had come to the edge of the Jordan River in our lives and the enemy is fighting us to TRY to keep up from crossing over into our promise. He said some other stuff but for the sake of time, I’m only dwelling on this part! WELL!!! I went to a afternoon service at El Bethel COGIC, here in the city of Dallas, on yesterday afternoon and the Evangelist who was there told the congregation that the next two months God is putting the devil AND us on “High Alert” and that God was going to do miraculous things for us and release things that have been delayed all year. The high alert regarding His people would be a notice of the miracles and the breakthroughs that He would do in this latter part of the year. The devil has been warned not to make any sudden moves against us because our “homeland security” in the spirit was heightened and fully engaged! WHEW!! Okay, my Holy Ghost is rising up! But let me explain why!

In the accounting world the beginning of the fiscal year is November 1st. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the word fiscal it means pertaining to the public treasury or revenues OR pertaining to financial matters in general. So because I’m an accountant by career, I understand that the 1st of November starts a NEW YEAR in accounting! So to understand that concept as it relates to the spirit means that God is shifting and changing our spiritual “accounting books” to begin a NEW thing in us this month; just like he did for the Children of Israel!

When God delivered the children of Israel out of the hands of Pharaoh, he changed the calendar for them to show and indicate that this would be beginning of a new thing. (see scripture above)
He told them that they would now begin a new year and a new undertaking. WOW!! So now I’m excited about what God is GOING to do in the next TWO months! So instead of us looking as this being the end of a year that was filled with trouble, turmoil and hardship; we should begin to rejoice in what God is going to compact into the next TWO months! I believe this is month has now become the beginning of new ideas, new breakthrough, new anointing, new spiritual leading and guidance; along with overflow and increase. The Lord spoke in the book of Isaiah 43:19, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” And I believe God is doing JUST that! He is going to CREATE and GENERATE in the areas of our lives that SEEM impossible! Those things that the enemy would tell us can’t happen or won’t happen. God says, “I’m STILL able to do exceeding, abundantly, above all that YOU can ask or think…”

Hold on to your profess of faith and believe that the next two months God will expressly show forth His glory and do great and wonderful things for His people! God has adjusted our calendar to match His season! Now adjust your faith to match His promises!! Like the Woman of God said yesterday, "Throw up two fingers and yell.....................TWO!"

Be Blessed!

© 2010 (L.O.W) Lifestyle of Worship Ministries. All right reserved

The longer they waited, the more David would unite his kingdom, and the greater his military strength would be.

David had already defeated the Philistines in the valley of Rephaim once and had overwhelmed his enemy and so the Philistines decided to regroup and try it again. How many times have we had the same enemy attack us, the same problem pop its head up. We all have perpetual enemies! Enemies of depression, enemies of loneliness, lack, frustration, anxiety, sadness, sickness, and anger; the same song – different day! We aren’t naïve enough to believe that once we are anointed that the devil is going to just go away. In fact the very contrary is true. He is going to come FULL force; full throttle and full steam ahead. But like David, keep asking God how to handle every atteck.

So now David AGAIN enquires of the Lord asking what and how should he face this latest attack from his enemy. God tells him to fight but not the same way he had fought before. God doesn’t have to do the same thing, same way every time. He is a God of variety and various resources. God always gets you out but SELDOM does He do it the same way or the way WE think. Sometimes I wonder if God just wants to make sure we are paying attention and switches things up on us and flips our lives around to make sure we KNOW that HE is in control and not us! But I rest in the fact that God knows what He is doing and there isn’t a situation that God can’t handle. There is not a predicament that God can’t get you out of. There isn’t a person, place or thing that God can’t put under your foot. God can handle the devil and anything he has to offer or send.
This time, rather than attacking them head-on, David was told to circle around behind them. God instructs him to draw back and come up behind the mulberry tree. And as Israel waited to see the salvation of the Lord, God promised him to charge the enemy himself, by an invisible host of angels. But observe, though God promised to go before him and smite the Philistines, yet David, when he heard the sound of the going must bestir himself and be ready to pursue the victory. Or let me say it where you can understand it. David after hearing the sound of God going forth, had to get up and do something too. We will never see the victory sitting by idle and lifeless, but we need to activate ourselves. We must be ready to move and do exactly as God instructs even if it seems that we are coming up the wrong way. God knows how to bring us to victory even when we don't understand how the victory will be delivered to us. So even when it looks like you are failing or coming up last. Please know that victory is certain; it just might come from BEHIND!!!
Be Blessed!

© 2010 (L.O.W) Lifestyle of Worship Ministries. All right reserved

1.And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2. being forty days tempted of the devil. Luke 4:1, 2a

Jesus was led by the SPIRIT to be tempted……
Just so you understand the series of events that led to this passage. Jesus was born, then the way prepared by John, and then he was baptized by John and announced as being the son of God whom the Father was WELL pleased. So I know you are thinking like many of us think about our own lives….WHAT HAPPENED?? But we must realize that there are going to be times in our life when we are tempted but this temptation is flavored by the hand of God. Even if the enemy is sent to initiate an attack on you, God is still there with a plan to bring you out of it. And what I found out from studying the story of Job is - MANY times it is God who referred us or CONSIDERED us for the attack. I was at a revival last night with a wonderful woman of God, Evangelist Cynthia Moore, and she said something that was implanted in my spirit. She said that Job was CONSIDERED by God because God knew that Job would hold on and not give up. God bragged (so to speak) on Job to the devil when the devil was looking for someone to torment, to attack and to tempt.
Just like the devil did with Jesus, he attacks us with the hopes of making us or causing us to turn away from God. He brings difficulties with the desired purpose of getting us to abort or abandon the plan God has for our lives. And you BETTER believe God has a plan and purpose for us and for what He has ALLOWED us to go through. Someone needs to know that God has a plan for them; even thru the divorce, the abuse, the unemployment, the death of a loved one. God has a purpose in everything that is going on in our life. So we can’t reject God’s plan because things aren’t going right….RIGHT NOW! We can’t turn our backs on God just because stuff didn’t work out like we planned.

What we must realize is that we NEED to be in the situations we are in; so that we can reach that next dimension in God. You need this level of temptation in order to step into this next place in God. The next level of anointing requires this particular trial. You can’t get to the next level struggling over the same situations. God is taking us from strength to strength and from glory to glory. But you can’t get there just by being cute.

What I’m (slowly but surely) understanding with my own trials and circumstance is – I am right where God wants me to be. It may not feel good, look good, smell good or even taste good; but you are right where God wants you to be. You might be broke, busted and disgusted but you are RIGHT where God wants you to be. You might be hurt right now but it is EXACTLY where He wants you so that he can prove Himself and get glory out of your life. Like Job we must continue to worship God regardless to our situations or circumstances because as Evangelist Moore said last night, “If God put you in it; He will certainly bring you out of it.”

Be Blessed!
© 2010 (L.O.W) Lifestyle of Worship Ministries. All right reserved

3And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 6Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Acts 3:2, 6

A certain man lame……they laid daily at the gate called Beautiful.

That really sum up the type of life most of us are living. We are sitting, standing, laying or living in what is supposed to be the most beautiful, successful times of our life but yet we are lame. We have situations and circumstances in our life that hinder our walk. The power of God is more evident in our churches but less manifested in our lives. We are lame! We can't do what God has designed us to do unless we can be healed.

We have here Peter and John coming to the temple at the hour of prayer. I could go on about the hour of prayer but I won’t. I will say prayer is what sets the tone for every miracle, every breakthrough, and every divine appointment. WHEW! I really could just preach on that but back to the story. Peter and John come to the temple at the hour of prayer and either they had seen the man before OR they were coming during a time when he was normally there and they weren’t OR could it be they just finally want to see him make a change in his life that would be permanent. Asking for change would change his economic status temporarily but it wouldn’t change his life like a miracle would.

The bible takes the time to mention that this condition began before his childhood but happened when he was in his mother’s womb. He wasn’t lam from birth but from his mother’s womb. Before he was even born, he was destined to be a beggar, destined to be a burden, destined to be an eye sore. Sometimes our situation and circumstance happened to us before we even had control over our own lives. This is the reason that I think people should get to know each other because when you see me as I am today you don’t know how I got to where I am today. So if you are going to get to know me today you are going to have to know a little bit about me as I am the some total of my past experiences. It took a lifetime for me to get where I am and will take a lifetime to get where I am going.

So Peter and John finds him lying at the gate called Beautiful; begging. Isn’t it odd that the gate would be called Beautiful, the gate is called beautiful but the problem is ugly? Have you ever had an ugly problem in a beautiful place? Look at the situations of life; you can have an ugly problem in a beautiful place. Isn’t it amazing how it can be the best of times and the worst of times all at the same time? If you will admit it in many ways this is the best time of your life, you’re smarter than you have ever been before, and you know more than ever before, you’re more mature than you were before. But on the other hand, there are more areas of your life under attack, there are some areas breaking your heart, causing pain, and there are many areas causing me great trouble. What do you do when your good time clashes into your bad time? What do you do when one part of your life is going up and another part is going down? What do you do when you’re stuck and everybody is walking passed you, going about their business? Because you know people will pass you, in fact, there are people who will walk over you. If you haven’t had a problem you won’t know what I am talking about, but, if you get into REAL trouble people will walk passed you and shake their heads as if they hadn’t gone through or been lame some place at one time. As long as you can clean yourself up, take care of yourself, take care of your own business, pay your own bills, you’ll have a lot of friends. As long as you’re picking up the check after dinner anybody will eat with you. But when you start bouncing checks, losing money, filing for bankruptcy, lose your house, have your car repossessed; you’d be shocked how those same people will walk passed you and go on with their life.

God ordered the steps of Peter and John and lets them see this lame man at the gate called Beautiful. At the same time the church was packed full of worshippers. God will let you be at the right place at the right time with the right people to get what you need from the Lord. The bible says, Peter and John went to him and said look on us, maybe they couldn’t have always said look on us.

The bible says that he looked on them expecting to receive something of monetary value. He didn’t have the faith to expect to receive a miracle. Still operating in the convenient, perhaps envisioning money; but one thing is for certain he expected something to happen….He was healed and went on rejoicing.

If you want to provoke God to move on your behalf you got to expect to receive something. Something happens when you sacrifice, something happens when you press your way, something happens when you fight your way, something happens when you step over your flesh and say, “though you slay me yet shall I trust in you.” And though my problems may be ugly, I have been placed in a position to receive something more beautiful than money, more beautiful than diamonds, more beautiful than fame and notoriety….I am in a position to receive GOD!!! And what could be more beautiful than that!

Be Blessed!

© 2010 (L.O.W) Lifestyle of Worship Ministries. All right reserved

Scripture: 3And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet. 4 And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar. 5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar. 13 So Mephib'osheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet. 2 Sam 9:3-5, 13

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he did eat continually at the king's table....

So I can imagine many will look at the title of this entry and say, “What do I have in common with Mephibosheth?” As to culture, time in history and names, we are worlds apart! However, there is some common ground between Mephibosheth and me. In fact, there is something in common between Mephibosheth and all believers. You see, all of us have had a similar experience—the experience of being given undeserved VIP treatment by a king, instead of being banished as we deserved.

Mephibosheth was a grandson of King Saul, the first king of Israel. Saul was the king who started out well but then turned away from the Lord. He not only stopped serving the Lord, but he plotted to get rid of David, the Lord’s anointed king. Thus there was alienation and enmity between David and the dynasty of Saul. As a member of the deposed house of Saul, Mephibosheth deserved nothing from King David. The same is true for every person born. There was a time when we were given dominion over the earth. However, when Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, the entire human race fell from power and from favor.
We, like Mephibosheth, was born into a fallen family. Like Mephibosheth, we were by heredity under the sentence of separation and death. And, like Mephibosheth, we could do nothing to help ourselves out of our predicament.

The Bible tells us in verse 4 that Mephibosheth was living in a place called "Lodebar”, which means “no territory.” He dwelt in the house of "Machir", which means "Sold". Mephibosheth was living in a place of poverty and want and didn't own his own life or he had no freedom to do as he had been created to do. To add to his misery, Mephibosheth was a cripple. He had been dropped by his nurse when he was 5 years old and as a result he was lame in both of his feet. Because he was lame, he could not work. He had inherited nothing but poverty and death from his family. He was a man who was in a desperate situation. He was a man who was missing the best life had to offer. He was a man in a terrible condition.

Like Mephibosheth, we were lost and needed a Redeemer to deliver us from the slavery of sin! We were born in sin and doomed to Hell and there was nothing at all that we could do about it. And for those who say, I’m saved and am not at that point anymore. I’m no longer there, you have something that has placed you at one point in time in Lodebar, the place of no production, no watering, no area to call your own. But God is sending for you to come to Jerusalem. And not only to the city but to come to the King's place and sit and dine forever with Him. He is permanently positioning us for His favor, His grace and His mercy. We, like Mephibosheth, are being moved from the poor house to the King's palace. We are being taken from nothing and given everything that the King’s court has. Everything changes when the King comes calling because He has prepared a place for us at His table, crippled legs and all.

Be Blessed!

Then she said, Let me find favor in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens. Ruth 2:13

Though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.

What Ruth was saying was, I'm not like everybody else. Man, did she say a mouthfull. She wasn't like the other handmaidens because she had something they could only dream of having. FAVOR!!! Ruth’s story occurred during the time of judges – a time marked by disobedience, idolatry and violence. Ruth was a Moabite. The book of Ruth is a story of God’s grace in the midst of difficult circumstances. Many look at Ruth’s background and pedigree and wonder how she would end up being in the lineage of Jesus Christ (she was the great grandmother of King David and a direct ancestor of Jesus Christ). Ruth had many aspects of her life that man would count against her. She was a woman, a Moabiite (or pagan), a widow AND poor. Doesn’t sound like anything good could come from this woman or happen to her. But with all these things stacked against Ruth, she had something connected and hovering over her life that would bring her through all the tragedy she had experienced. FAVOR! Favor which is the state of being approved or held in regard by the LORD in our lives and all our situations, apart from any merit of our own.

Favor is assigned to you! It is given by God because He has that right. The bible says, “He shows mercy on whom He willeth.” Not every saint has Divine favor evident in their life, although everyone has been divinely favored. Every believer is favored with salvation, mercy and grace, but it is presumptuous to think that all walk in Divine favor. Once you have this favor, it cannot leave you; only you can forsake it by believing more in the circumstances than God’s word! Favor in the Amplified Bible is defined as benefits, opportunities, blessings, to be envied and spiritually prosperous, unmerited grace. Webster defines favor as helpful or considerate act, the attitude of friendliness or approval, to benefit, to give advantage, to prefer or like one more than another. Favor isn’t something you can earn, buy, steal or get by means of human skill but it comes directly and solely from God. It was the favor of God upon Ruth’s life that divinely connected her with Naomi. When Ruth made the decision to be connected to Naomi, she made the best decision of her life. She had the same opportunity to go back to her family and back to her old way of life as Orpah, but when you have a taste of favor it’s like going from Spam to Lobster, projects to the penthouse; once you have tasted the “favored life” there is just no going back. Ruth didn’t realize that it was God’s favor that was setting her up for one of the greatest events to take place in her life. All she knew is that Naomi had something that she hadn’t ever experienced before….the true and living God. Favor has a way of working for us even when we don’t know its working. All we have to do connect ourselves to God with faith and determination and He will favor us. Ruth had become connected to Ruth not because of Naomi’s personality but because of Naomi's connection to God. If Naomi didn’t have God, I don’t think Ruth would have had that same connection to her.

At first glance it doesn’t seem that Ruth is connected to the right person. Ruth’s husband is dead, Naomi is a poor widow, her sister-in-law has returned, weeping, but she still went back home. But never judge a person by where you see them now. Just because I don’t look like much right now doesn’t mean I’m not favored. My present condition doesn’t determine my future position. My favor isn’t based on external forces but eternal forces. Many times we judge people based on external, carnal, material passions and never take time to take a good look into their prophetic destiny which is covered with favor. We think if we can connect to people who are going up, people who are known, people who are in the “in” crowd then we will automatically have it too. But when I have God’s favor, I don’t need a letter of reference or letter of credit from man. I don’t even money or a good ranking. I don’t need a recommendation or a “Holy Ghost” hook up. All I need is God’s favor.

I heard a story last night from a MIGHTY woman of God, Lady Carletha Taylor. She told us about a sale on BBQ sandwiches which sold for 99 cents each and was limited to 2 per person. She said she stood in line from 1:30 until 2:20 and upon getting to the front of the line she order 2 sandwiches, one with sauce on the side (I loved that part the most). She was told by the order taker, that the time had expired for the sale. She didn't get frustrated or develop an attitude, she remained stedfast. Others had gotten out of line after 2:00, assuming that they wouldn't get the benefit of their standing in line and another was turned away. However, she remained in line because she knew she had a promise of receiving those sandwiches AND God's favor. She declared that she met the conditions for the sandwiches because she was there in the time frame required and she had her $2.17 to pay for them. After a short conversation with the manager (a higher authority) she received 2 LARGE sandwiches (one with the sauce on the side) from the freshes cuts of meat, the best of the best if you will; because not only did she have Divine Favor but she also had diligence and determination that she would receive her promised reward.
I don't know about you but I'm changing my name to FAVORED because I'm determined to get all that God has for me!!! You can call Evangelist Favored from now on!!! (smile) And the next time you are eating a BBQ sandwich, think about how favor, faith, and faithfulness can get us our promised future, just like Ruth and Lady Taylor.

Be Blessed!!!
© 2009 (L.O.W) Lifestyle of Worship Ministries. All right reserved

It seems that time comes to a screeching halt. The hours and minutes waiting on your test results seem to go at a “snail’s pace”. This is when we need time to speed up and to hurry along. But time although created FOR us isn’t at all controlled BY us. God has the power and the authority to do with time whatever He desires. Let’s be honest, we have asked God many times to hurry or accelerate time for us because the thing that we are having to endure seems to be taking forever to be resolved. Though time seems to be moving at a “snail’s pace” during our trial, it is actually moving at the exact pace God designed. But because our life, ministry, health or wealth are being tested it feels so much longer. But God knows what He is doing.

Verse 9 of the same chapter reveals that God is NOT slack (late) concerning His promises as some count or consider slackness. In other words, just because it hasn’t happened doesn’t mean that God has a different plan for your life or the season for His purpose to be revealed in you will not come. It is that either He is preparing you for your season or preparing the season to receive you through the use of time. The older saints used to say it like this – “He may not come when you want Him, but He’s right on time.” The sooner we recognize that God will not hurry our process and though we cry, moan and plead He will manifest His promises in His time not ours, the easier waiting will be. The devil will try to make us feel as if God is playing a cruel joke on us or He is in heaven doing us some injustices. HE ISN’T. He knows the direction your life needs to take even when we don’t know. God dwells in eternity and started your life from the end and rewound it back to the beginning. He knows exactly what you will accomplish and how much time you need to do it; even when we don’t. So as Galatians 6:9 says, “Be not weary in well doing for ye shall reap in due season if you faint not.”
God doesn't conduct His business like we do often times; by procrastinating. He has a Divine process for us every day and the more days we allow Him to process us, the better we will become. Almost like spaghetti sauce eaten the day after it is prepared always has a better flavor. Why? Because the spices have had time to breakdown and blend with the sauce. God doesn’t need time to work or manifest His word and promises in us. WE DO! He is trying to get a better flavor from of us through the use of time. He can do the work of a thousand years in one day. However, we need and require time to be developed, established and purged so that His word and promises can be manifested in us. God extends our time for His purpose. The bible says, “To every thing (an unspecified item or occurrence) there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” This gives us understanding that to every undetermined happening or object, God has designed and attached a season and to every time there is a measured system of periods to our purpose. We just have to be patient and wait on our season and purpose; taking it one day at a time. And though we don't understand all of our every day occurrences, we do have a God who understands us and has design the day for us. Each day he provides new mercies. Each day he tells us to not worry about tomorrow, because He's got that in control. So as His children, we should focus on and be strenfthened to accomplish today's task and let God take care of the rest.
I remember while growing up, there was an older lady at our church who used to sing this song entitled “One day at a time.” As a kid, everything about that song was amusing to me. The words were out dated and her vocal ability wasn’t at all what I would consider “solo” worthy. All us kids would laugh and snicker every time she stood to sing it, which must have been every service. Not moved by our laughter or grins, she would stand holding the back of the pew, eyes closed and begin to belt out “One day at a time, sweet Jesus; that’s all I’m asking of you. Give me the strength to do everything you want me to do. Yesterday’s gone, sweet Jesus, and tomorrow may never be mine. Lord for my sake, teach me to take one day at a time.” At that time I didn’t understand the meaning of the song or how important that song was or would be to me personally. But today I understand all too well!

Lord, teach me to take one day at a time.

Be Blessed!
<span style="font-family: Verdana; Aren't there some things in your past that you don't EVER tell anyone or want anyone to ever know. The only people, who know about those terrible acts, are the people who were actually there and you have sworn them to secrecy. When you have embarrassed God and yourself it is really hard to forgive yourself and often times we wonder why God would forgive you. Many of the things that we have done in our previous life, we wish would could take back or do a lot differently. But God knew who you were when he called you and what you had done. But the beautiful thing about God is that He uses those failures and mishaps to get glory for Himself. Paul had to be embarrassed by his past, but it wasn't his past that God was looking at; it was his future. The bible says that God declares the end from the beginning. And Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. He is the author and finisher of our faith and he had designed your mess to be recreated into a message for someone who is coming up along the same way you came.

Unlike Jesus' other apostles, Paul had not known Jesus in person. Paul asserted that he received the Gospel not from man, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. He had received grace from God even when the church people were afraid of him, because they thought he was out to kill them. But the grace of God, which is sufficient, is extended to us and makes up the shortage of our messed up life. Though Paul had a shady past, his future in Christ was bright and it had nothing to do with his education, association or skills. We have to understand that everything we do, whether we think we have the "power" and "ability" to do HAS to be done by God's grace.

When I look at my own life I realize the grace of God has nothing to do with my biblical or secular education and knowledge. It has nothing to do with my money or lack thereof. It has nothing to do with my prestige or position or lack thereof, because God's grace is what drive me and sustains me. I remember the older saints used to say with great conviction, "God's grace kept me." So although I may not be regarded by many and I just might be last or the weakest link, the bible decrees that the first shall be last and the last shall be first. So that is why I rejoice because I realize that by and through grace my time is coming. My breakthrough will happen and like Gideon, who felt like the least among my brethren, God has a plan for my like AND your life. I stand in the guarantee of the power of God, because I recognize that it is not by my might, nor by my power but it is by HIS spirit saith the Lord.

Be Blessed!

© 2009 (L.O.W) Lifestyle of Worship Ministries. All right reserved

Scripture: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, Eph 1:18

That ye may know what is the hope of his calling...

When you are in a crisis it’s easy to lose perspective. It happens to the best of us. It happened to Jesus’ disciples on the Emmaus Road. Discouraged about His death, they were “going over all these things that had happened. In the middle of their…questions, Jesus came up and walked along with them. But they were not able to recognize who he was because according to Luke 24:15 “there eyes were holden that they should not know him”. When you take your eyes off Jesus, you begin to feel helpless about things. Dr. Michael Youssef once said: “Facing a major crisis… I tend to be the kind of person whose vision becomes blurred…my perceptions are shot…my contemplations one-sided…and I often shut out the very people who can deliver me…just like these two disciples…Their vision was blurred about the very person who was walking with them and talking to them. The One whose death they were mourning was alive…but they didn’t realize it because their focus was on the wrong thing.”
But everything changed the minute they recognized Him. “And they rose up the same hour and returned to Jerusalem.” There…the two…told…how Jesus had appeared to them as they were walking along the road, and how they had recognized him as he was breaking the bread. Notice the words “the same hour.” In an instant they went from fear to courage, pain to joy, and despair to hope. And that’s the story of Easter and how God wants to bring hope to us. No matter how bad things may appear to be, when you set your eyes on Jesus He will fill you with hope. So Paul writes: I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, which means having ALL the facts and information. God wants us to KNOW and experience the hope of His calling. Though the enemy wants us to think we have no hope, we have hope in Christ Jesus despite the troubling times we are currently facing. There isn't anything that we are facing right now that God doesn't know about and hasn't already prepared the way out for all of us. He writes the scripts of our lives as the author and finisher of our faith, regardless to what the media, newspaper or society says about our currect situation. We must remain focused on Jesus and as Jesse Jackson said, “Keep Hope Alive”. Hope isn't dead, only hopelessness.

Be Blessed!

So no matter what conditions you faced in 2008, don’t let it stop your progress in 2009 because we are MORE than conquerors. Instead of looking for the symptoms of post-traumatic stress, let’s look for God to manifest our post-traumatic growth.

Be Blessed!

How He would intercede for us because we were helpless, seemingly hopeless and tormented by the devil.

However, Jesus answered her NOT a word. In other words he didn’t even acknowledge that her request was heard. It would have been different if he just said no from the beginning but to be ignored feels so much more badly than being told “no.” His disciples were upset and offended that she would even ask such a request of Jesus. He then tells her that He was sent to the house of Israel and couldn’t give the children’s bread to the dogs. Now you know if someone had called you a dog or anything outside of your name, you and I would have been so offended we would have either wanted to fight or would have walked away with a MAJOR attitude and talked about how rude church folks are for the next 10 years. But this woman understood the principle of ownership that a lot of us don’t really grasp. The bible says that we are BOUGHT with a price. If you are a dog owned by the right master, your have rights and privileges that some hard working humans don’t have. Do you remember the multi-millionaire woman who died and left all of her money to her cats? Or see celebrities on television with their dogs and their dog’s little coat cost more than our entire wardrobe.

This woman was not offended by Jesus' words but agreed that His statement was truthful in its entirety but added an amendment to His truth. She said that even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the master’s table. She took the ownership of the table from the children and placed it rightfully as the master’s, because the Master has the authority to feed whomever He desires. The Master has the power to feed them gourmet food or scraps. And the thing about most dogs is they are not finicky, unlike children. Dogs will usually eat whatever they are given, whether it is hot or cold it really doesn’t matter because all they care about is being filled!!!! WHEW!!! I hope you felt that because the bible says they that hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be FILLED. I am not hungry for position; just righteousness. I am not hungry for power; just righteousness. I am not even hungry for favor because the bible also says in Psalms 5: 12, “For thou, Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor will thou compass him as a shield.” So when I hunger after righteousness, favor, power, and position will soon follow.

So she falls down and worships him and simply says, “Lord help me.” She didn’t explain why she deserved to be answered, or argues why Jesus should do it because He had done it for the Centurion's servant and he wasn’t a Jew. But she worships! Because of her posture to worship and her faith in Jesus, her daughter was healed from that moment. This woman let’s worship do the work. If we can get our minds set on worship instead of complaining or crying; God will go to work for us. God can’t walk away from worship because His word says that He is seeking worshippers. We must worship even when it seems that He isn’t answering or when it feels like He is berating or unconcerned about our plight. We have to let worship do the work for us and worship will get it done!

Be Blessed!!

© 2008 (L.O.W) Lifestyle of Worship Ministries. All right reserved

Scripture: And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, what shall we drink? Ex 15:23, 24

They could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter...

We find here that the children of Israel have just been saved AGAIN by God. Not only were they miraculously taken cross the Red Sea, but their enemy was destroyed. In Chapter 14, Israel faced 2 terrible situations. At the bank of the Red Sea they thought their lives were going to end. If they tried to swim across the Sea they might drown, and if they turned back they would face sure death because Pharaoh’s army was coming for them. So they had the Red Sea in front of them, mountains on each side of them and Pharaoh behind them. Have you EVER felt like you were in the middle of a mess with no way out? Have you felt like four walls of trouble were caving in on you? Every where you turn there seems to be no solution, but plenty of troubles. Well, this is the perfect place for God to be glorified. Moses told the Children of Israel to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. In other words, don’t do anything because God is getting ready to do something. Don’t panic right now because God is going to 'kill 2 birds with one stone.' He told them, “The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” Not only that but their enemy that was chasing today, they would NEVER see them again. WHEW!! That deserves a praise break right there. I wish I could hear God tell me THAT!!!!! Okay, so God does what He said and delivers them so that they can travel across the Red Sea on dry ground, because He doesn’t want them slowed down with mud. (That is another message in and of itself)

So now in verse 1 of chapter 15, they were singing and praising God for his power, for His salvation. They were in complete “celebration” mode. As well they should be and they were still moving forward to their promise. They travel 3 days in “praise” mode without the thought of the lack of water. However, when they come to a body of water at Marah, the waters are bitter. They had traveled 3 days without water with no complainants, but when they got to the water and it was BITTER, the complaint sessions started. Their complaint wasn’t that there was NO water, but that they found BITTER water. It is funny how the greatest happiness and optimism can soon be turned into murmuring and complaining. I believe there are times that God will lead us on a path of blessings (righteousness) but it just might be in the valley of the shadow of death and things will surface to make it seems like the blessings have turned into a curse. But just like God led Moses to a tree and told him to use it to sweeten the waters, He is going to lead us to something or someone to make our bitter waters sweet. Some theologians say it was a shrub in the form of a flower; others, the berries of a bush found growing around all brackish fountains. However, neither of these shrubs is known to possess such natural virtues. It is far more likely that God miraculously endowed some tree with the property of purifying the bitter to sweet -- a tree was employed as the means, but the sweetening was not dependent upon nature or quality of the tree, but the power of God.

And so after the waters were sweetened the bibles says, “There He made for them a statute and an ordinance and there He proved them. What God expected from them was OBEDIENCE. Many times our level of obedience diminishes because we have encountered bitter waters. We are troubled on every side and feeling in despair so we are tempted to complain, or murmur or whine, “WHAT IS GOD DOING THIS TO ME.” But even during our bitter water encounters, God is still expecting us to follow His Word and plan even when things seem to be going down hill. He is establishing us for HIS purpose and according to His way; not ours.

After the miraculous water change, God then leads them to Elim where there were TWELVE wells of water with an oasis of trees and refuge. This shows that though God may, for a time, order His people to encamp by the bitter waters of Marah, yet that isn’t where they are to remain. We must know that our condition is changeable or variable but God love and power are constant. Our condition in life can go from better to worse and from worse to better in a heart beat, but if our faith is God we have this confidence that He will lead us to the place of our promise.

Be Blessed!!!

Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it. Josh 1:10-11

You shall pass over the Jordan…

This was a declaration that God made through Joshua right before they were to go into the Promised Land they had waited SO long to enter into. Most of the people that Joshua was talking to only knew the wilderness because all of the people over the age of 20, excluding Joshua and Caleb died in the wilderness. God raised up Moses to deliver His people. God miraculously delivered them out of the hands of the oppressor that never really want his slaves to leave, only the wanted the bad things that were happening to his people to be halted. After the children of Israel were delivered out of Egypt, Pharaoh’s crazy army decided to follow orders and follow them with the purpose of recapturing them. But if I was a member of that army and had seen all the plagues and the Red Sea part, I would have turned around and ran the other direction to avoid any further contact with them. But they didn’t and it resulted in their death.

So now God had gotten them out of Egypt but had a hard time getting Egypt out of them. The mentally of living beneath their privilege had always been a part of them and changing addresses wasn’t going to change anything, no matter how promising the future looked. I few nights ago I was “channel surfing” and decided to watch a reality show about a star that had been raised in poverty and came up the hard way. However, through many entertainment opportunities, she and her family was now living a “wonderful life”. As I watch this particular episode I saw big beautiful houses, fine cars and expensive shopping sprees. However, I also witnessed via the television many fights among family members, I saw people screaming and yelling in the middle of their shopping spree in a crowded mall. I then realized that this star had received money, which changed many aspects of their life but the money, the fame and fortune hadn’t changed their mentally. Okay, enough of that now back to the Children of Israel. Everyone could have been enjoying Canaan in under a month, but because of doubt and unbelief most of them died in the wilderness. WHAT WAS THEIR PROBLEM???? The same problem we have today. They were stuck. They had just lost their wonderful leader and things couldn’t have been going more wrong because now they were up against another body of water, but this time they didn’t have the leader that had gotten them over the Red Sea. However, they did have the same God. They could have decided to just stay there because they were CLOSE to the promise, but who really wants to SEE the promise but never experience it. They had to make a decision to keep moving even though things had changed, God hadn’t.

Maybe living the “little dab will do you” sort of life is okay for you, but if you don’t want anything for your life, that is okay. However, I want more. I NEED more. I can’t stop and camp out in the wilderness not after coming so far from where I was or fighting the enemies I had to fight. I wasn’t designed to life outside in the elements. Actually I don’t like camping in the natural sense. I don’t like driving to a camp site, getting out of my cool or warm car, depending on the time of year to “brave it” in the wild. If I don’t have live by “nature” I won’t. In the natural, I don’t want a tent I want some walls. And in the spirit, I didn’t come out of Egypt to live in the wilderness for the rest of my life. Some of us are not built to be campers, we are movers and shakers. I want to take some territories, tear down some walled cities. I have had enough with being without; I want the land of milk and honey. Why would I suffer lack if I don’t have too? God won’t take you where you don’t want to go. He is not a terrorist. God will take those who want to go! Crossers chose movement over monument. I want to do something that makes a difference; it isn’t about great accolades but what is Godly successful. I have come to the understanding that convenience will not get you the will of God; commitment will. You don’t luck up on God’s blessing, it is a decision that you have to make up in your mind to do whatever God wants and desire so that you can have it. So pack up your camping equipment and move to the city.

Be Blessed!
